In February new local grant competitions held by a network of Act Locally Centers got started. They award grants for projects aimed at encouraging village and small town residents to start meeting their local needs by acting themselves.

The Polish-American Freedom Foundation and University of Warsaw School of Education has started enrollment of students for a year-long course for future Polish and mathematics teachers. The enrollment of candidates for the 2017/18 academic year will last until March 31, 2017.

It is with profound sadness that we learned about the passing of Professor Aleksander Koj, a Member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, former Rector of Jagiellonian University, Professor at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Jagiellonian University, Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and former Chairman of the Conference of Polish Rectors, author of numerous academic publications on life sciences, nuclear biology and biochemistry.

The Polish Children and Youth Foundation has announced the All-Poland Grant Competition within the Polish-American Freedom Foundation's “Equal Opportunities 2017” Program. The objective of the Program is to foster equal opportunities for a better start on the road to adulthood for young people from rural areas and small towns with the population of up to 20,000 inhabitants. The application deadline is March 14th, 2017.
