We say farewell to Professor Aleksander Koj

It is with profound sadness that we learned about the passing of Professor Aleksander Koj, a Member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, former Rector of Jagiellonian University, Professor at the Institute of Molecular Biology of Jagiellonian University, Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and former Chairman of the Conference of Polish Rectors, author of numerous academic publications on life sciences, nuclear biology and biochemistry.

The Polish Children and Youth Foundation has announced the All-Poland Grant Competition within the Polish-American Freedom Foundation's “Equal Opportunities 2017” Program. The objective of the Program is to foster equal opportunities for a better start on the road to adulthood for young people from rural areas and small towns with the population of up to 20,000 inhabitants. The application deadline is March 14th, 2017.

By the end of January, socially responsible firms and corporate foundations can be nominated to the twentieth, jubilee edition of the “Benefactor of the Year” Competition. The Competition is organized by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland and its donor is the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.

The 4th edition of “TAU for Communities”, implemented as part of the “Third Age Universities” Program, has been launched. For next dozen of months, ten Third Age Universities will work on establishing and developing groups of volunteering and social activities.
